Screen time should be interactive, studies have shown. Allow kids to watch shows and play games that stimulate their brains, ask questions, and require interactivity. Passive TV consumption isn't usually educational.
Although you're probably not enthralled with the latest episode of Daniel Tiger, make sure you know what your kids are watching. Monitor not only the amount of TV they watch but also the content. Make sure their shows and movies are age-appropriate and that they won't be kept up by scary or confusing content.
